~WaCkY wEdNeSdAy~ & A Freebie

Hello and Welcome to my first Wacky Wednesday!!  Today is the day that I will post a craft project that shows how some of us like to think "outside of the box".  :-P  I know that I am definitely one of those people.
I had several ideas for todays project, but for some reason the one I chose kept popping back in my mind as a fun one to try.  Maybe because my best friend, Deb, is a whole lot more likely to try something made from everyday objects we have around the house, than to go out and stock up on a gang of supplies she may never need again.  Hahaha!!  And I promise, most everyone will have what you need to make this fun and EASY craft!!  I hope everyone is as inspired by it as I was when I happened upon it.  For myself, I chose to veer from the main instructions and kind of wing it... will post a picture of mine this afternoon.  Would love to see what other's come up with!
The tutorial for this project can be found at one of my favorite blogs, Mel Designs.  A very creative gal!!!  Here is the page for todays project:

*A few little hints: The tutorial she wrote calls for a paper towel tube.  I used a toilet paper tube.  She also instructs you to sew the bottom closed, but my daughter has zero knowledge of a sewing machine so she stapled hers.  It worked perfectly!!  I didn't have any burlap on hand, so we used what I had and also chose our own type of photos and embellishments.  If you don''t have transfer paper,   just decoupage a favorite picture you have on hand using modge podge or craft glue, embellish as desired.  Oh, we didn't have handles so we bent our wire to work.  Basically, we took her idea a substituted our own to make a cute little wall pocket.  I do think that the metallic paint works best, but if you prefer a color to match a room, go for it.  My daughter made hers to hang in her nieces nursery and used a baby theme.  I will post hers when I do mine.  Kind of shows you can turn these into anything you like.  :)

I also mentioned a Freebie...  for anyone who loves Word Art, I found a sensational download today.  I have accumulated a "ginormous" collection of these for use in my cards.  To find the FREE download, go here:

That's it for today.  Will be updating this post later with photo's.  Have fun and get crafty!!!
